Nimmo
Bay (Heli-Fishing)
Heli-Fishing
For
the past 20 years, Nimmo Bay Resort has been the pioneer of Heli-Fishing,
and Heli-Ventures. These are
unequaled outdoor experiences in the realm of aviation, angling and aquatic
adventure tourism. Heli-Fishing is
for anyone who wants to participate in the most unbelievable sport fishing
adventure of a lifetime. No longer is anyone "Retired" from fishing.
Mountains are mere hurdles for your helicopter.
You can fly out of the rain, and, if the bite goes off, you simply move
to another paradise, more beautiful and productive than the one you just left. Each river is alive with fish and there are enough rivers to
choose from as your pilot/guide takes you throughout 30,000 sq. miles, from sea
level through seven thousand feet for a peak top lunch.
Then, in an instant, you're back streamside fighting Steelhead, Coho,
Chinook, Chum or Pink Salmon.
In addition to the bounty of Salmon and Steelhead; Cutthroat, Rainbow and
Dolly Varden play a large part in nature's annual pageant.
Fly among majestic mountain peaks as you survey rivers rarely fished by
mankind. Rivers that abound with
Grizzly, Wolf, Cougar, and Eagles who watch as we observe their daily ritual-
Fishing. Fly-fish for wild B.C.
Salmon, Steelhead and Trout. From
April to October the probability of angling success are excellent for both
novice and expert anglers. Your
helicopter stays with you all day to ensure your success and safety.
Return to Nimmo Bay each evening for a dip in the waterfall hot tubs, a
sumptuous coastal feast and the best sleep of your life.
Some
past guests of Nimmo Bay include; President
George Bush, Richard Branson, G.M.
& head coach of the Chicago Bulls, CEOs of Boeing and Bombardier,
CEOs of American and United Airlines,
South West CEO as well.
Couples
Heli-Fishing
Just the two of you and your personal pilot/guide will discover new rivers full
of fish. Walk in old growth forests
of cedar and spruce and cool your toes in the sparkling water of the Pacific as
you stroll the West Coast beaches. Visit
the home of the killer whale and grizzly bear and view life from an alternate
perspective. After a memorable day
of flying, fishing and exploration, return to Nimmo Bay for our famous feast of
coastal delicacies prepared by our renowned Chef.

Our
coastal climate is one of magnificent extremes. Temperatures range from 45-100 F
(5-35 C) from mid-April to mid-October. Guests swim in Nimmo Bay from June to
September. Please pack as little as possible-about 25 pounds per person.
Comfortable pants, shorts, shoes, shirts, sweater, warm jacket, long johns,
swimsuit, and personal toiletries are all that's needed. A laundry service is
available for emergencies. Bring your camera, video, batteries, jacks and film.
Oh, yes! A change of clothes is necessary if you should decide to participate in
a great caving expedition! We have polar fleece snap jackets and vests for sale
as well as T-shirts and hats. Soft
sports bags are ideal and preferred to a maximum of 36 inches. Avoid suitcases,
as space is limited in a helicopter or float plane. Extra luggage can be stored
in Vancouver at Pacific Coastal Airlines - our carrier to Nimmo Bay.
